Chinese New Year Celebration at Hok Tek Tjeng Sin Temple
sumber: dokumentasi pribadi
Klenteng yang berlokasi di tengah pusat perbelanjaan Tanah
Abang, Klenteng Hok Tek Tjeng Sin. Tidak ada perayaan khusus yang dilakukan seperti
klenteng lain. Hanya ada kegiatan sembahyang biasa. Namun dekorasi khas Imlek
tetap dipasang untuk memperingati hari raya.
Namun tiga hari sebelum hari raya, klenteng ini melakukan
acara pemandian rupang. Yang dimana biasanya saat hari-hari biasa hanya
membersihkan altar. Rangkaian bersih-bersih sebelum hari raya ini bertujuan
agar ketika menyambut Tahun Baru Imlek semua dalam kondisi bersih.
Terdapat 10 rupang yang ada di Klenteng Hok Tek Tjeng Sin. Yaitu
Pek Kung dan Pek Pho sepasang dewa dewi suami istri sebagai dewa utama, Kwan Ti
Kung, Thai Sang Lau Cuin dan Thai Sui Sing Cuin, Sien Than Kung, Kuan Se Im Phu
Sat, Ti Chang Wang Phu Sat, Wang Mu Niang Niang. Ada juga tiga patung buddha di
ruangan sebelahnya.
Penyembahyang yang datang pun biasanya hanya orang sekitar
klenteng, seperti pemilik toko.
sedangkan patung betina tampak memegang anaknya.

The temple is located in the middle
of the Tanah Abang shopping center, Hok Tek Tjeng Sin Temple. There are no
special celebrations held like other temples. There are only regular prayers.
However, Chinese New Year decorations are still installed to commemorate the
holiday.
However, three days before the
holiday, this pagoda held an image bathing event. Which is usually during
ordinary days just cleaning the altar. The series of cleaning up before the
holiday aims to ensure that when welcoming the Chinese New Year, everyone is in
a clean condition.
There are 10 statues in the Hok Tek
Tjeng Sin Temple. Namely Pek Kung and Pek Pho a pair of husband and wife gods
as the main deity, Kwan Ti Kung, Thai Sang Lau Cuin and Thai Sui Sing Cuin,
Sien Than Kung, Kuan Se Im Phu Sat, Ti Chang Wang Phu Sat, Wang Mu Niang Niang.
There are also three buddha statues in the room next to it.
Worshipers who come are usually only
people from around the temple, such as shop owners. On normal days the
shopkeepers usually pray before opening and closing the shop. It is believed
that their merchandise is blessed by the gods.
Worshipers from outside rarely come
because of the location of the kntang which can be considered hidden. So only a
few worshipers from outside come to this temple. Usually also because you
already know or have prayed here before.
Unfortunately, the existence of this
pagoda is slightly covered by market buildings and shophouses, as well as the
Tanah Abang Market relocation building. If you want to visit this temple, the
worshipers have to go a little into the corner of the market.
However, because of its presence
which is now considered to be in remote markets. This pagoda is also known as
the hidden gem in the heart of Tanah Abang. The nickname "hidden gem"
is also given because the journey to find it is not easy. However, the
appearance of the building is quite unique and has a striking color typical of
pagodas.
In front of this pagoda it looks
guarded by a pair of statues of ciok say or kilin lions. The male ciok say
statue is seen holding a ball and bat, while the female statue is seen holding
its child.
